January 2012 “Gracias” Update

Dear friends:

“….in the course of my life he broke my strength, but You remain the same, and your years will never end and the children of your servants will live in your presence”   Psalm 102:21,27, 28 NIV.

My grandmother Luisa used to say:  “we cannot fool those years!”  Of course years take a toll in our physical bodies, but by the same token, we appreciate God’s provision and eternity as we grow older and actually feel closer to Him….

There really is no month of the year like December!

We celebrate, we gather as a family, we finish the year, we rest, we count our blessings, we have a chance to reflect and set new goals and visions for the coming year, that is exactly what we do as a ministry here in Mexico.  Some highlights in December:

Our Christmas Cantata:  Once again a “big hit” Four came to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior on December 18th.  We celebrated after church in El Ejido with a Christmas Mexican meal:  Tamales, beans, salsa and plenty of hot chocolate and coffee.

We were blessed with the visit of the Garcia family from Tepic outreach.  Gonzalo reported 8 baptisms in November and the work there just keeps growing, he also took 25 Christmas boxes for the children in Tepic.

Sergio mentioned completion of the parsonage in Acapulco plus the obedience of three who were baptized into Christ.

A lot of preparation is going on for our 2 work groups that will be laboring with us in Cancun this very month of January!  Faithful helpers from Northside Christian, Wadsworth Ohio, and First Church of Christ, Burlington KY., will make the first group of workers arriving in Cancun on January 7, then the next group Parkview Christian will get there on the 14 all the way from Orland Park Illinois.

Abner, Norma and Jair will be assisting these groups along with the Juan Ochoa family, church planters in Cancun.  We are especially grateful to the above mentioned churches for making it possible to pay for the land in full!  We plan to do take care of this procedure on our visit there….

We have dreams and goals for 2012:  These include:  Win at least 100 souls for Christ, Registration of our Christian middle school, a new church plant in Cabo San Lucas, establishment of new leaders at El Ejido Church, construction of new classrooms as well as the modification of actual guest building to accommodate our middle school.  WE CONTINUE TO NEED YOUR PRAYERS FOR SAFETY AND YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT1!  HAVE A GREAT 2012, STAY SAFE!

Thank you and God bless you
