July 2010 “Gracias” Update

Dear Friends,

Yeimie was brought to us by her mother along with her three brothers, the year was 1989, and we had just opened our Children’s home to serve the needy and homeless children.  She was just a little curious eight year old girl.   We noticed that she had hardly been able to attend school.  With great determination, Yeimie became a nurse, married Samuel Martinez, a Colegio Biblico graduate who has pastored a Hispanic Church in the Chicago area.  They have 2 children little Samuel 7 and Japhet 5 who was named after Jair’s middle name!  They are now in Mexico where Yeimie is working at a government hospital as a nurse.  We are truly proud of her becoming a great mother, wife and professional.

In June we were totally immersed with the blessing of having a full month of groups coming to work and share here with us, We are especially proud of these groups who decided to come amid difficult times and we know their decision to make this trip was not an easy one.

Five groups came:  The Church of  Christ of Joplin MO, Parkview Christian Church, Orland Park, IL., Lakeview Community Church, Cedar Hills, TX., East Columbus Christian Church, Columbus, IN., and Brownstown Christian Church, Brownstown, IN.

A lot was accomplished by these dedicated servants!  We mainly focused this help on our needed expansion of the Christian schools.

A highlight in June was Norma and Jair’s trip to Acapulco to dedicate the church building there.  One of the families was going through extremely difficult times because one of their two daughters had been missing for over a week.  On Sunday June the 13th., as we were worshiping through praise, I noticed that Sujey, the praise leader, started to cry uncontrollably, we found out that the reason for her tears was that the missing girl, Sonia had just come in  to join us in this special service.  She decided to come to the Bible College in Piedras Negras to prepare herself to serve the Lord!

As I write, Piedras Negras and all of North Mexico has suffered devastating floods, our city major and 6 others, just got killed in an airplane accident while checking on the river levels and flood damage in the area.

Please do continue to pray for us!

Here are our urgent needs:

Prayer for safety.

Funding for an additional classroom needed for the elementary school.

El Ejido Christian Church building project.

A new kitchen-dining area will be added.

Thank you and God bless you.
